A site on Google and other search engines to place it well requires some preparation. Here are ten tips that will succeed you as well.
- Take your time! Choose a domain name that suits you, your company and / or your products. Key terms (keywords) in the domain names are unimportant.
- Learn the basics of HTML – What is a day> <Title, which means <H1>. You should at least read and understand your own code and can. Many programs write bad code and unnecessarily bloated. Search engines cope better with structured data as well with creative chaos. And search engines can index text only. Images are not readable. Text on a graphic is not recognized as text.
- Choose your keywords carefully! Remember, you are operating blind. If you are sure to have found your most important search terms, ask your kids, wife, maid – whomever. They come on very different terms under which they would find your site. Think of niche and go into detail.
- Write your keywords found a text of at least 200 to 250 words. Remember, you have enough space. Too many keywords per page is counterproductive – two to three per page is enough. Do not forget: search engines need enough content to categorize your site correctly. The key search terms should <h1> not only in text but also in the title or in the sub-and sub-headings <h2>, <h3> … . appear
- Create a meaningful title <title tag> with the most important keywords. Your company name alone is not enough. The title of the site is its figurehead, appears in the browser bar at the top in the blue and appears in the search engines. Each side needs a custom title!
- Very important for rankings in search engines is “Link Popularity”. If the content of your site other webmasters seems interesting, they will put links to your site. The more links (the best of thematically related sites) pointing to your site, the more superior is your site for search engines. But avoid links from so-called “link farms”. The neighborhood is poor and is often valued negatively. We recommend a separate page for links to their site to other interesting sites that match their theme. You are looking for good sites, put a link to it and write to the webmaster that they refer to his side. Ask him (no pressure or demand) to place a link back. Offer him a pre-link and a short link text with the most important keywords at.
- Create meta-tags. Primarily a <description>. This describes the content of your page (and is not displayed in the browser). The <description> appears frequently in search engines and displays the search ends, what it is on their side. Key words here are also welcome, but please make sense (and not necessarily the same ones you have used in the title).
- They build a meaningful navigation in your pages. The most important pages (including the homepage) should be accessible from every page. If possible, avoid a Javascript navigation – search engines can follow these links to you only in the rarest cases. A sitemap is also recommended.
- Do not expect quick results. If your site gets a link from a page listed in the search engine, the search engine will find your site. Sooner or later, your site will then appear in the index of the search engine (you can also register your site manually, but this is not necessarily faster). Do not use automatic submission programs and do not use prices to register at 100, 1,000 or 10,000 search engines – something that can bring your site to the blacklist.
- If your site is finally listed, please do not try, constantly herumzuoptimieren it. Unless your tree is passable, has good (and not duplicate) content and get some links from the outside, you should not change a couple of months. Watch the search engine results – and as long as you create new pages! Please do not try the popular tricks, eventually even the dumbest search engine detects this and throws you out of the index – in the best case for half a year, in the worst forever.
If after three months still not be found, please check whether you have enough text on your pages. Write! Did you try to optimize each page for those keywords? Two per side are enough! Did you find webmasters who link to your site? Keep looking! Create a page per day – then you’ve done after a year of plenty.
